System Update!
I’m thrilled to share with you some of the exciting content and reviews that are coming your way in the very near future. This update is all about the new equipment that will be featured in my upcoming videos, and I can't wait to dive into these fantastic products!
New Collaborations and Partnerships
First up, I’m excited to announce that I’ve recently joined the staff at Audiophilia, the online journal for audiophiles. Anthony Kershaw, with whom I collaborate on the Everything Classical Live stream, invited me to start contributing reviews. This has opened the door to some exciting new gear for review, and I’m beyond thrilled to get started.
Perpetuum Ebner Turntable
One of the standout pieces I’ll be reviewing is a turntable from Perpetuum Ebner, a respected German brand. Thanks to Angie Lisi, the distributor for Perpetuum Ebner, I’ll be receiving the two-tone version of this stunning turntable. It’s already in Miami, and I’m eagerly awaiting its arrival at my home. The turntable will stay with me for several months, giving me plenty of time for first impressions, setup videos, and detailed reviews. Stay tuned for in-depth coverage and my thoughts as I explore its capabilities.
What’s even more exciting is that this turntable will be paired with a Phasemation cartridge, which I’m eager to experience. As someone who’s never had a cartridge in this price range before, I’m anticipating a sonic revelation, and I can’t wait to share my experience with you.
Miyajima Laboratory Mono Cartridge
Next, I’m diving into something completely new for me—a Miyajima Laboratory mono cartridge called The Infinity. This is a long-term loan, and I’m eager to explore its capabilities with some of my vintage mono records. I’ve always used the mono switch on my equipment to listen to mono records, but now I’ll finally be able to experience them as they were meant to be heard with a dedicated mono cartridge. Given that this is an expensive, high-quality piece of equipment, I’m expecting great things and can’t wait to share my findings.
VPI Industries: New Arms and Cartridges
Another exciting addition to my system is a new VPI Industries arm for my VPI Scout. Harry and Matt Weisfeld at VPI sent me a second arm, pre-mounted with an Audio Technica moving magnet cartridge, the VM95E. I haven’t used a moving magnet cartridge in over 20 years, so I’m curious to see how it compares to moving coil cartridges, especially within my existing system. The budget-friendly VM95E will also serve as a fascinating comparison point as I continue exploring the differences between moving magnet and moving coil designs.
Additionally, I’m eagerly awaiting the VPI Model One, a complete rethinking of VPI’s turntable line. This model has been receiving rave reviews, and I’ll have the opportunity to compare it to my Scout. The Model One has a new arm design and a suspension system, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it performs at its price point.
Audio Art Cables: A Complete Loom Upgrade
As part of my ongoing system upgrades, I’ve reached out to Audio Art Cables to address my cable situation. Until now, I’ve been using stock cables or borrowed equipment, but Rob Fritz, the wonderful gentleman behind Audio Art Cables, is sending me a full loom of cables to enhance my system. I’ll be testing a variety of cables, ranging from budget options to some higher-end selections from Audio Art's line. Expect to hear about how these cables impact my system and listening experience as I work through them over time.
Ramar Record Brush: The Beauty of Accessories
I’m also thrilled to share a new accessory that I’m excited about—the Ramar Record Brush in beautiful redwood. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this German-made brush has caught my eye with its stunning design and functionality. Accessories like this are the cherry on top of an audio setup, and I’ll be doing a full review of this exquisite product soon.
Looking Ahead
There’s a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks, and I can’t wait to dive deep into all of these new products and share my thoughts with you. The upcoming reviews will explore everything from high-end turntables and cartridges to affordable cables and accessories that can elevate your listening experience.
Stay tuned for detailed reviews, comparisons, and plenty of hands-on content as I bring these exciting updates to life!
